City of Birmingham School careers education programme provides our pupils with the opportunity to plan and manage their careers effectively, ensuring progression which is ambitious and aspirational. It promotes equality of opportunity and is designed to meet Gatsby benchmarks and conforms to statutory requirements.
We aim to support pupils to make realistic and informed decisions about their future, by raising aspirations and providing impartial and independent information and guidance.
We provide all pupils Years 7-11 with a careers programme which is embedded into the curriculum and includes a variety of enrichment activities.

Career Events 2025-26
In the Autumn The National School & College Leavers Festival are coming back to the NEC, Birmingham on 11 – 12 November 2025. This is the UK’s largest careers and skills event with over 150 employers, universities, colleges, and general training providers. This is completely free to attend and with a travel bursary available to all attending students. It’s an extremely interactive event which really gets students thinking about their options post 16 – 18.
Also The National Apprenticeship Show – West Midlands be back at the CBS Arena, Coventry. This is back on 10 – 11 March 2026.
