13 July 2020
Dear Parent/Carer
Following a very different term at school, our year 11s will be leaving us on Friday 17th July when we break up for the summer holiday. As you are aware, the GCSE examinations were cancelled but teachers and school leaders have been working hard to submit teacher assessed grades to the exam boards. The exam results that your child receives will be as valid as in any other year and will be reflective of the grade they were likely to get in the exam.
Results day is on Thursday 20th August 2020. Your child will be able to pick up their results from their own centre at 10am on the 20th. Centres will remain open for results collection until 12.30pm. Social distancing measures will be enforced and so please be mindful that you may be asked to wait outside until there is enough space for you to come into the building safely.
Although we hope to see many of you on results day, if your child is unable to collect their results we will post their results home. All uncollected results will be posted on the same day, although we cannot guarantee what day they will be delivered to you. We will not be able to give results over the phone or by email.
If you have any questions about results day, please contact the appropriate Head of Centre. Details are as follows:

The government has now confirmed that another exam series will be put on for current year 11s in the upcoming autumn term. It is not a requirement that pupils sit these exams, but they are welcome to take the exams if they would like to. It is likely that pupils will sit these exams at their new education provider but we will write to you with further information in due course.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have offered during your child’s time with us. We hope that you have a wonderful summer and wish your child every success for the future.
Yours faithfully
Kiri O’Flynn
Deputy Head Teacher
