We want our pupils to become lifelong readers, writers and communicators. At COBs, we will support pupils to make rich connections between what they read and what they write. Pupils will be provided with the skills needed to write for different purposes that are relevant to them.

They will be given time to practise skills learnt so that they become fluent readers and writers.  Our curriculum builds on previous knowledge and skills acquired in the previous year or at a previous setting and provides pupils with the opportunities to practise and further develop these skills and deepen their understanding. A range of high-quality texts is used to enrich the teaching and learning in every year group and provide memorable and enriching experiences for our pupils.
